The hard-side cab is designed for commercial customers and others who use their tractor for long hours in inclement conditions and desire the most comfortable cab available.
This hard-side cab is specifically designed for X700 Signature Series Tractors:
- The hard-side cab is rollover protection structure (ROPS) certified for extra protection and equipped with a seat belt for additional safety.
- This cab meets the requirements of most municipalities and institutions that specify ROPS certification.
- ROPS certification may provide a competitive advantage for some customers and be an additional reason to buy John Deere.
The hard-side cab is designed and constructed with high-quality materials for commercial customers and others who use their tractor for long hours. It is ideal for operators who work in inclement conditions and desire the most comfortable cab available:
- A class A powder-coat finish stays new-looking longer.
- A heavy-duty, unitized steel frame ensures long life.

This hard-side cab has steel doors for extra protection:
- Cab offers protection from the elements and expands the versatility of John Deere tractors to perform in all climates.
- Cab is designed to make the operator as comfortable as possible, while providing maximum visibility for mowing, snow blowing, and other operations.
- Entry handle is a push-button design.
- Doors and windshield are pin-hinged and can be removed in 5 minutes to 10 minutes for increased comfort during warm weather.
- Doors and windows are weather-sealed.
- Each door has a sliding window that can be opened for ventilation.
- Doors have an interior steel guardrail.
- Key-locking handles are on both doors.
- Two-stage door locks and a finger guard provide added safety.
The roof is constructed of heavy, 16-gauge, 0.06-in. (1.5-mm) steel:
- An acoustical-foam headliner adds comfort and reduces sound.

A large handle on each side of windshield pulls out to open the windshield approximately 4 in. (10.2 cm) for ventilation. The hinges can also be released from the cab frame with spring-loaded pins (no tools required) so the windshield can be raised to full-open position:
- A gas spring holds the windshield in the open position.
- The tractor hood can be opened for service.
- The tractor hood can be removed, if desired.
